CoCo was officially launched in March of 2004. However, it all started back in early 2003, when co-directors Peter Reimann and Peter Goodyear (Peter and the other Peter) decided to leave Europe and head downunder to start a leading research group at the University of Sydney.
Just a few years down the track and CoCo has already made a name for itself. It has quickly become a centre of gravity for elearning research and practice, complimented by an emerging focus in e-Research. International guests bring expertise and global perspective and in the last few years, we have had the opportunity to welcome a slew of top researchers from Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, as well as host symposia and a major ASCILITE conference. The Visiting Researchers page keeps a list of some of those colleagues that have visited and collaborated with CoCo in the past few years.
We've also received numerous major research grants, including seven ARC grants and a Carrick Fellowship. Academic staff now include yet a third Peter (Prof. Peter Freebody), Dr. Chun Hu and our e-Research specialist Dr. Lina Markauskaite. See our full list of Coco Alumni.
