2008

Prof. Michael Jacobson accepts the position as CoCo's new Co-director.

Sarah Howard moves from PhD student to Post-doctoral Researcher.

2008

CoCo wins four new ARC Discovery 2009 projects (from five submitted).

Leading researcher Prof. Michael Jacobson moves to Australia and joins CoCo.

Kate Thompson moves from Phd student to Postdoctoral Fellow.

2007

Leading researcher, Prof. Peter Freebody (aka. Peter #3) joins CoCo

Previously a postdoctoral fellow, Lina Markauskaite joins permanent academic staff as lecturer and e-Research specialist.

Peter Goodyear wins one of only two prestigious Carrick Senior Fellowships awarded nationwide.

CoCo now includes five academics, 14 research students including PhDs and Masters students, two technical specialists, and a Research Associate.

2006

CoCo and the Faculty of Education launch the Master of Learning Science and Technology degree and see its first year of graduates complete the course.

CoCo hosts the ASCILITE 2006 conference

2005

Dr. Chun Hu joins CoCo Academic Staff.

Now with 6 full-time postgraduate students, CoCo also receives regular visiting research students from around the world.

CoCo is successful in receiving three ARC linkage grants and a thrid ARC Discovery grant.

2004

CoCo is officially launched as a Research Centre within the Faculty of Education and social Work.

CoCo's first PhD student (Kate Davison) joins the team, and is soon followed by 2 more full-time PhD students.

CoCo receives funding for 4 postgraduate fellows, and Posdoctoral Fellow Lina Markauskaite joins the team.

CoCo hosts the International Research Forum "Elearning in the Wild" as part of the AC21 conference in Sydney.

CoCo is successful in receiving two ARC discovery grants.

2003

Peter Reimann joins the University of Sydney. 3 months later, Peter Goodyear joins and together, "the two Peters" create the CoCo Research Centre.

The Peters begin to build the core CoCo team when they are joined by an administration assistant, multimedia designer and web developer. The team will grow each year.
