The Professional stream of the Learning Science & Technology program provides professionally relevant research-informed courses at an advanced level for people who are currently working, or wish to work, in the field of e-learning. Students gain hands-on experience with a wide variety of tools and technologies (eg. group work tools, webcasts, knowledge building environments, blogs, simulation tools, podcasts, XML, IMS learning design standards, educational data mining, etc.) and solve real-world problems in the context of professional case studies.
Course topics include learning design methods for technology-supported learning, psychology of multimedia learning, organisational change, systems thinking, emerging technologies, mobile learning, innovative practice in e-learning, and evaluating e-learning programs, among others. Participants are given opportunity to incorporate and support their workplace experiences with their course work.
A Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate are available as alternatives to the full Masters degree. The program is flexible and designed around the needs of students that may also be full-time working professionals. Our graduates go on to advance their careers within the rapidly growing e-learning industry as designers, managers, consultants, trainers and educators. To complete the Graduate Certificate, just the four core units need to be completed. A Graduate Diploma can be awarded after the 4 core units plus two electives are completed.
