This doctoral scholarship is funded by the University of Sydney Foundation Program Pty Ltd (Study Group) and will provide support for 3 years on a full-time basis for a research project leading to a PhD. The objective of the project is to explore the ways in which ICT (information and communication technologies) can support the delivery of University Foundation Programs for students who have English as their second language.
Applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree (or a Masters Degree that includes a dissertation component) in education or applied linguistics. Applicants should also have experience in teaching English as a second language and with the use and/or design of ICT for use in educational or training settings. Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens. The scholarship stipend is $20,427 p.a. in 2009 beginning semester 2 and is tax exempt for full-time study. Please see the attached award conditions for further information.
Applicants must have an approved application for admission to a Research Higher Degree in the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney in order to be considered.
