This website supports teachers and other educators who work with students of all ages to build understandings of their local environment. These processes of student inquiry involve visits to a local area and use of technology to

• assist observations,
• record findings,
• identify species and other aspects of the environment,
• analyse, evaluate and update field observations,
• communicate with scientists and other colleagues about data and observations, and
• respond creatively to aspects of the local environment.

The site aims to

• showcase projects where teachers and their students have used technology to initiate inquiry of their local area,
• provide software to support student inquiry, and
• inform about using technology to support inquiry in and for the local environment.
