About Us

This website aims to support teachers and other educators to conduct student-based inquiry of the local environment. Such projects are generally long-term, enduring over many years as long as enthusiasm and other motivations persist. Projects often commence with initiation of an interactive website of plants and/or animals found in the local area. Then, over the years, this resource is expanded and up-dated to reflect both increasing scientific understanding of the biodiversity of the local area and new areas of inquiry.

The site contains units of classwork that focus on student-led inquiry in the local environment, free downloadable software, technical specifics about hardware and ICT systems, links to similar sites and other useful tips and tricks.
